Driving Kids to Learn, Naturally.
: Teacher With The Bus Student Program :
* Gives students the freedom to do what they love in nature
with art, music, sports, science and more
* Goes to parks, beaches, and mountains on a regular basis
* Real life teachers, artists, musicians, environmentalists, sports(wo)men, writers, innovators, and entrepreneurs guide our students
We support a balance of structure and freedom. A large part of our students' experience is self-determined. We encourage them to follow their interests. While we believe that kids need free time to play and dream we also believe it is essential that they have guided activities and goals to work towards. So basking in the sun, reading a book, and throwing a Frisbee are parts of our program. But we also ensure that longer-term projects are worked on for our end-of-session presentations.
We are strongly influenced by Richard Louv’s book “Last Child in the Woods”, which teaches that kids need to be immersed in nature for healthy development.
